👋 Hi! I'm Jinhai 金海.

I am a Ph.D. candidate in Political Economy at the Doctoral School of Political Science at the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE University) in Moscow. I hold a Master's degree in Finance from the International School of Economics and Management at Beijing Technology and Business University, where I focused on corporate information disclosure and the application of text analysis in accounting and finance. Additionally, I expect to get another Master's degree in History from the School of Arts and Humanities at HSE University, specializing in the socio-anthropological study of bureaucratic relationship(Guanxi关系) culture in China.

Research interests:  

Climate finance, Information production in capital markets, Political economy of finance and accounting, Government–business relations, Large Language Models (LLMs) in Social Science

Proficient in the application of Text Analysis techniques including LLMs(e.g., BERT, FinBERT, GPT) to process unstructured data and to quantify politics and economic concepts that are challenging to measure.

Actively looking for another Econ. Ph.D. opportunity and also open to interdisciplinary research collaborations that explore the use of LLMs and advanced text analysis techniques in quantifying complex political and economic phenomena.
